Queen Elizabeth To No Longer Remain Quiet As BBC Report Claims Prince Hart And Meghan Markle Lied Against Her Majesty

The Queen is said to be changing her press policy to allow the Royal Family to respond to ‘mistruths’.

British monarchs have long stuck to a ‘never complain, never explain’ approach.

But it is expected that Palace aides will now correct any false media reports which misrepresent private conversations between the Queen and other senior royals, the Mail on Sunday reports.

An insider said Her Majesty made the U-turn after being sent ‘over the edge’ by the recent row over Lilibet’s name.

It was widely reported that the Sussexes had asked the Queen’s permission before giving their newborn daughter the Queen’s nickname – but the BBC reported this was not true.

Harry and Meghan were quick to respond, saying the Queen was the ‘first family member’ Harry called. They added that if the Queen had ‘not been supportive, they would not have used the name’.

A source has since reportedly insisted the conversation about the name was ‘a telling, not an asking’. Meanwhile, another insider denied any video call introducing Lilibet to the Queen, as reported by US journalists, had taken place.

They said: ‘No video call has taken place. Friends of the Sussexes appear to have given misleading briefings to journalists about what the Queen had said and that took the whole thing over the edge.’

The ‘new policy’ follows months of tension in the Royal Family after Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview.

The couple accused an unnamed individual of having ‘concerns’ about the colour of Archie’s skin before he was born.

The duchess also accused ‘the firm’ of denying her help when she told them she was having suicidal feelings.

Meghan said sister-in-law Kate Middleton ‘would’ve wanted a correction’ after reports claimed she had made her cry.

She added: ‘And maybe in the same way that the Palace wouldn’t let anybody else negate it, they wouldn’t let her, because she’s a good person.’

It comes after the Queen welcomed world leaders to a dinner at the Eden Project on Friday night.

As the group of world leaders posed together for a photograph, she joked: ‘Are you supposed to look like you’re enjoying yourself?’

The monarch also welcomed US President Joe Biden and his wife Jill to afternoon tea on Sunday.
