Cemetery Worker Dies As Grave He Was Digging Collapsed On Him

A 42-year-old cemetery worker was killed after a grave he was digging collapsed in on itself and buried him alive.

Rodwin Allicock died after the accident at Washington Memorial Park in Mount Sinai on New York’s Long Island on Tuesday morning.

The grave he was working on was more than seven feet deep, with Rodwin leveling out the bottom of the hole when the accident happened.

His co-workers frantically tried to dig him out after the accident. Tragically, they were too late to save him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Further information about what caused the grave to collapse has not yet been shared.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Suffolk County Police’s homicide squad are now investigating.

Co-worker YV Yang Paid tribute to Rodwin on Facebook after. He shared a photo of his late colleague, and wrote: ‘Sleep in peace Rodwin Allicock. You was a great coworker and a great guy !’
