Trump attacked Mitch McConnell for accepting Biden's win

President Donald Trump attacked Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell early Wednesday morning for congratulating President-elect Joe Biden on winning the 2020 election.

He said this barely 24 hours after Electoral College confirmed Biden as the winner of the election.

After the Electoral College declaration, top Republicans and foreign leaders congratulated Biden.

For weeks after the election, McConnell stayed silent as Trump attempted without success to challenge the results of the election.

"The Electoral College has spoken. So today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden," McConnell said Tuesday on the Senate floor.

But Trump has refused to concede defeat, saying that it is too soon to do so.

He made this known in a tweet reacting to top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell message that “it’s over”.

“The Electoral College has spoken. So, today I want to congratulate President-elect Joe Biden,” McConnell said on the Senate floor.

Trump, who continued his allegations of mass fraud despite their rejection by courts, asked the Republican Party to fight on.

“Too soon to give up. Republican Party must finally learn to fight. People are angry!” he tweeted.

In subsequent tweets, Trump said, “Poll: 92% of Republican Voters think the election was rigged!”

Among the world leaders that has recently acknowledged Biden’s win is Russian President Vladimir Putin, who said he was “ready for collaboration” with the Democrat.

Others are Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and Mexico’s Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador..
