SERAP Comes Hard For FG As #RevolutionNow Protesters Get Arrested Nationwide

Today August 5th, 2020 was slated for a #RevolutionNow protest calling for the return of true democracy in the Nigerian government.

The slogan which was championed by 2019 Presidential candidate of the AAC, Omoyele Sowore was synonymous with his Take It Back campaign which took Nigeria by storm with many youths clamoring for a change  in government through the 2019 General Election.

Similar to what occurred exactly a year ago today where many protesters were arrested and beaten by security operatives across the nation in states where the protests held, the reports, videos and pictures circulating the airwaves reaffirms the government's stance to curb all forms of protests or resistance.

In a tweet via its official page, the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has challenged the Federal Government, stating if the fight against corruption is indeed true, investigations should be made into the reports of the armed forces challenging the protesters who are carrying out their rights in accordance with the constitution. In a series of other tweets they caled for the release of Revolution Now protesters arrested.
