#TOTMUN: Tottenham vs Manchester United Prediction, Team News, Line-Ups

Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United lock horns on Friday night as the Premier League return reaches full swing.
Both sides are chasing a place in the top four, subsequently guaranteeing Champions League football next term.

Spurs are on the backfoot as they currently sit in eighth, and seven points behind Chelsea who occupy fourth, whilst Man Utd are one place (and three points) behind Frank Lampard’s men.

There is another interesting subplot to Friday’s game as Jose Mourinho, faces his former side, determined to deny Old Trafford successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the chance to become just the second manager to do the double over him – after Frank Lampard.

Tottenham vs Man Utd kick-off time and details

Competition: Premier League
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Date: Friday, 19 June 2020
Kick-off: 20:15 (UK time)

Tottenham & Man Utd’s previous line-ups:

Tottenham (vs RB Leipzig): Lloris; Dier, Alderweireld, Tanganga*; Aurier, Lo Celso*, Winks, Sessegnon; Lamela, Alli*, Lucas.

Man Utd (vs LASK): Romero; Williams, Maguire, Bailly, Shaw; Fred, McTominay; Mata, Fernandes, James; Ighalo.

Mourinho has confirmed that Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko will all start against Manchester United, while Steven Bergwijn is also back following injury. Dele Alli, meanwhile, serves a one-match ban, Japhet Tanganga is injured and Giovani Lo Celso is doubtful to start.

Manchester United will only be without Axel Tuanzebe and Phil Jones in an otherwise fully-available squad, including the returning Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

Players to watch:

Harry Kane: Goalscoring hasn’t been an issue for Spurs this season, but they’ve missed Son and Kane, both of whom were in top form prior to sustaining their respective injuries. Kane, in particular, remains Spurs’ leading marksman this season on 11 goals (across 20 league games) and he’ll be looking to make up for lost time when Man Utd visit. Friday’s match also gives Kane a chance to improve his record against the Red Devils. In 11 previous league meetings he’s only managed two goals, which happens to be his joint-worst record against one of the Premier League’s so-called ‘Big Six’ sides (also two goals v Manchester City).

Man Utd:

Paul Pogba’s imminent return has Man Utd fans salivating as a prospective midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes could be the catalyst that pushes Solskjaer’s men to secure Champions League football next season. Fernandes, who finally joined United in January, has been a revelation having scored two goals and creating a further three in five Premier League outings.

Scoreline prediction: Tottenham 1-1 Man Utd
