The Hausa actress, who was stark naked at the time, was seen running towards the person holding the camera after seeming to have realized she was been taped.
Booth had issued a statement, alleging that Rufai, a music artist better known as Deezell, had “threatened to release her nude video, if she failed to pay him an undisclosed sum”.
Her reaction comes hours after Deezell had taken to his Twitter page to issue a lengthy statement, where he denied circulating the video.
“I wish to make it clear that I did not leak the alleged video in circulation on social media and to the best of my knowledge, I do not know who leaked the video,” the statement had read in part.
Still unsatisfied, the musician took to his social media pages to release another statement, where he “vehemently denied” some of the statement made by Booth.
He also tackled the actress for attempting to “unfairly discredit and expose me, to shame and ridicule me in the eyes of my family”.
“I vehemently deny the allegations. The entire statement (Booth’s) is ill-founded, false, and untrue, save for the fact that Maryam Booth is my ex-girlfriend,” he wrote.
“The publication is a barefaced attempt to unfairly discredit and expose me, to shame and ridicule me in the eyes of my family. At no point did I threaten Maryam Booth or anyone to leak any video if I wasn’t given money.
“There has never been any demand from me to her or any person. Agreed, she was my ex. But I didn’t and have never ‘sneakily recorded’ her while she was changing. I also don’t know who did.”
He also said he had earlier sympathized with Booth after the clip broke the internet but won’t watch while some individuals seek out personal benefits at the expense of his own name.
“Over the months, I’ve been subjected to cyberbullying, attacks, and hatred for reasons best known to the perpetrators who have attempted to pull me down to their miserable levels,” Deezell added.
“However, with this incident, I feel greatly injured in my credit, character, and reputation. I have been unfairly brought into hatred, scandal, ridicule, and contempt.”
Deezell called on Booth to withdraw her “defamatory” publication and apologise to him, stating that he has sought advice from his legal team on the next line of action.
“Since her publication, I have been bombarded with calls and messages from my family members, friends, and associates, all shocked and disappointed by the false publication,” he wrote.
“I therefore demand that Maryam Booth immediately remove/withdraw the said defamatory publication on all social media platforms and apologise via same platforms.
“Finally, I have since consulted my legal team to study the said defamatory publication and give their legal advise on the available options to take in the circumstances.” SHARE THIS NEWS USING ANY OF THE BUTTON BELOW PLACE YOUR TEXT ADVERT BELOW ⬇⬇⬇
