Five Wedding Guests feared dead in Ekiti auto crash

Five wedding guests lost their lives in an auto crash while returning from a wedding in Ekiti state.

The terrible incident happened Saturday evening along the Ado-Ikere road expressway.  The vehicle involved an 18-seater bus which was conveying the wedding guests, belonged to the Ekiti Market Women Association.

According to the Daily Tribune, An Eyewitness reported that the driver seemed to have lost control of the vehicle as the bus was seen somersaulting several times.

It was reported that three wedding guests died on the spot while two people who sustained severe injuries later lost their lives on the way to the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.

However, the Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO), Caleb Ikechukwu confirmed the  accident  including the death of only three people, when contacted by newsmen.

“It was a lone accident. Three persons were confirmed dead while others sustained various degrees of injuries.

“We gathered from some eyewitnesses that the driver was driving on a high speed, so he lost control of the vehicle and it somersaulted for a number of times,” the PPRO said.
